New RSA map shows fatality blackspots on Tipperary roads

The interactive map shows that between 2016 and 2024 there were four pedestrians died in Carrick-on-Suir as a result of road collisions, and one motorcyclist
The RSA has made available a new interactive map, showing the locations of all fatal, serious, and non-serious road crashes in Tipperary and nationally from 2016 until the end of 2024.
In the same timeframe, there were 347 serious injuries recorded, and 1,105 non-serious injuries.
The map shows that in that time, there were 79 fatal crashes with notable clusters on the N24 between Carrick-on-Suir and Clonmel. The data also shows four fatal road collisions in Thurles town in that time, three in which a pedestrian was killed and one where the victim was a driver.
Nenagh town saw two fatalities between 2016 to 2024, one where a cyclist was killed and one where a pedestrian was the victim.
There were eight fatal incidents in Clonmel; six on the N24 and on the outskirts, and two in the town centre. In five of these incidents the driver was killed and in three incidents, pedestrians died.
In Carrick-on-Suir between 2016 and 2024 there were four fatal incidents and in all four, a pedestrian was killed but not a driver or passenger. One motorcyclist was killed in the same timeframe.
The full map is available to view on the RSA website.
