C-SAW Tipperary is a voluntary organisation providing a Drop-In “Listening Ear” support service for anyone who is feeling sad and depressed.
Free counselling is also available by appointment.
C-SAW was established in Clonmel to help members of the community who have lost loved ones to suicide and now extends to all individuals seeking support because of feeling low, sad or depressed.
It offers free confidential services in a safe welcoming environment.
Last year an outreach service was established in Tipperary Town.
Since it was established the Tipp Town the service has been open to the public on Monday mornings, from 10:30am - 12:30pm at the C.J. Kickham Brass and Red Band Hall, Davis Street, Tipperary Town.
A homely environment is provided where people can come to have a chat over a cup of tea or coffee and to seek further support in confidence if needed.
Talking to people has a proven positive impact on our lives and the service is there to listen and help in any way possible.
On Monday July 10 the service celebrated its first birthday with a welcoming event at the Band Hall. A large number of people attended throughout the morning and founder of C-SAW Joe Leahy and his wife Yvonne were also present. There was gallons of tea and coffee made and served along with delicious home made produce.
Before the cutting of the cake Marji Maxwell from the committee thanked everyone for their support.
“Thank you for your support during this last year. We know that it’s a very important service here in Tipp Town. Nobody knows when or where we will need help and when we need to talk. So as long as you tell everybody that we are here every Monday to listen and there is a phone service also available. If we can ever help anybody we are here to listen. Can I say thank you to our volunteers. We could not do this every Monday without our wonderful volunteers,” said Marji.
For the cutting of the cake Siobhán Nugent and Marji Maxwell were joined by the other members of the committee and by a host of well wishers.
Congratulations to C-SAW Tipperary Town on its first birthday and a reminder that the service is open every Monday morning at the C.J. Kickham Band Hall. C-SAW offers a free phone service, text or call, whichever feels more comfortable.
You can text for a call back for a confidential chat.
This service is available Friday and Sunday, 6pm to 9pm or you can text for call back to 0871755750.
