On Saturday, May 11 in New Inn, Mullinahone Ladies Football U21 team took to the pitch to become the clubs first ever U21 Division 4 county champions.
With a 2pm throw in and with glorious sunshine Mullinahone were in blistering form.
With an early goal, the ladies started as they meant to go on.
In the first half at least six different Mullinahone players had scored and went in with a generous lead at half time.
In the second half not much had changed and with some very good come back scores from opposition Golden Kilfeacle, the Mullinahone side just pulled away even further and gave a fine display of football.
It must be said Golden Kilfeacle threw everything at Mullinahone, and didn’t give them an easy pass. But the ladies played superb football and just kept going right to the very end, finishing on a score line of:
Mullinahone 5-17 Golden Kilfeacle 2-03.
The club and team wish to thank club sponsor Mullinahone Co-op and a special word of thanks to TJ McInerney for treating the team and management to ice-cream after the game. On such a hot day it was very much appreciated by all.
