PICTURE: The festive season is in full swing at this Tipperary school

Last Friday, December 1 marked the official beginning of the festive season in the Ursuline Thurles.

In the coming weeks, the fifth and sixth-year student councilors will be organising plenty of entertainment in the build up to Christmas.

At lunchtime a big crowd of students and teachers turned up to see their friends battle it out to win the Christmas Quiz.

There were some tough brain teasers like how many kilometers is it from Thurles to Lapland.

The competitors, representing their year group and the staff got plenty of help from the audience who shouted up answers, which weren’t always correct.

But because nobody was taking the quiz or themselves too seriously, it was enormously fun.

Surely, the Elf on the Shelf will make an appearance around the school this week with prizes for those who can decipher the cryptic clues and find his whereabouts.
