PICTURE: Tipperary school celebrates their world champion
Amazing!
It’s not every day that a school or community can celebrate a world champion in their midst, but this is true in the case of St Ailbe’s student Amy Doyle, who recently enjoyed success at the 50th World Irish Dancing Championships in Belfast.
Amy and her teammates competed in the minor mixed four-hand céilí 11-13 years event and were placed first to be crowned world championships.
The school community were thrilled when Amy brought in her World Globe award and school Principal Ruaidhri Devitt said that they were immensely proud of Amy’s achievement.
Indeed that goes for everyone in the wider Tipperary Town locality as we celebrate a world champion in our midst.
Congratulations Amy!
