Planning green light for demolition of Tipperary business due to 'structural defects'

Planning permission has been given for the demolition and rebuilding of Butler's Bar and B&B in Clonmel.

Planning permission has been granted by Tipperary County Council for the demolition and rebuilding of Butler's Bar and B&B in Clonmel.

It had to be taken down by the owners, Maisem Ltd, after "structural defects" were found in the external walls during refurbishment.

The development address is Butler's Bar and B&B, 108/109 Irishtown, Clonmel, E91V4F1.

A replacement building of more than 500 square metres over three storeys plus attic is being put up on the site in Irishtown.

The bar on the ground floor will have a new layout with a repositioned plant/keg store, new toilets and back of house facilities.

The B&B consists of 13 bedrooms on levels one to three and the project includes changes to the breakfast room, the entrance hall and stairs.
