Planning permission for upgrade works to take place at Clonmel Railway Station have been submitted to the council.
Planning permission for major upgrade works to a railway and bus station in Tipperary have been submitted to the council for consideration.
The proposed works on Clonmel Railway Station, Thomas Street, would include a new bus shelter and new seating.
Plans outline new paving, kerbs, timetable signage and road resurfacing to the front of the railway station building to accommodate a new accessible bus stop.
Car parking layouts will be revised as part of the plans for refurbishment as well as new footpaths and an accessible set down area.
A new pedestrian crossing, new steps and a ramp with balustrade within the site leading from the station to Thomas Street.
The proposed development is being funded by National Transport Authority and forms part of a larger program of works at 22 bus stations throughout Ireland.
The aim of the refurbishment is to upgrade the station and make it more accessible to those that use it.
Clonmel Railway Station is also a protected structure.
Tipperary County Council have until November 4 to make a decision on the above planning application.
