Pippy Carroll scores four in second half of Premier League local derby

Clonmel Credit Union Premier League

Two Mile Borris 0 – 6 Peake Villa

Peake Villa came out on top in this local derby game to keep their hopes of retaining the Premier League title intact with some clinical finishing the difference on the day.

The first 20 minutes were a tight affair with both defences on their game before the visitors to Newhill Park finally broke the deadlock in the 35th minute when Micheal Quinlan played in Ronan McGuire, to round the keeper and score.

Peake Villa doubled that lead six minutes later when Kieren Hennessy crossed, and Mc Guire leapt highest to head over the keeper to make the score 2-0 to the away side at half time.

They introduced Pippy Carroll in the second half, coming back from injury, and what a half he had. A Keith Cahill free kick on the hour mark, was cleared but only as far as Carroll, who volleyed to the top corner to make it 3-0.

In the 65th minute Liam McCormack played in Carroll who made no mistake to make it with a low shot for 4-0. And he completed his second half hat trick 15 minutes from time when he was taken down in the box, before getting up to score the resultant penalty.

Carroll then rounded off a man of the match performance three minutes from time when he scored his fourth and his side’s sixth when he chased down a defender, won the ball, and fired low to the net to the delight of the Villa supporters.
