Tobaraheena Well closed since last November

Tobaraheena Well in Clonmel and the nearby road will be reopened by the end of this week, Deputy Michael Murphy has confirmed.

The road and well were closed when a wall collapsed during Storm Claudia last November.

Repairs to the area have been carried out in the meantime.

Deputy Murphy welcomed the reopening of the road and well for the benefit of local people and visitors alike.

The well is located in a small park at the junction of the Marlfield and Cahir roads on the outskirts of Clonmel.

The park features a holy well with a modern stone hood and a small stream, crossed by a stone bridge.

There are large weeping willows and hawthorn trees around the stream and paths have been cut through long grass in the park.
