'Postman Tom' to retire after 27 years of service to local Tipperary community
As part of his pre-retirement he will leave his Ardfinnan round this week and return to Clonmel.
After 27 years as a postman and many of which were spent with the people of Ardfiinan Tom Parker will be set to retire next February.
As part of his pre-retirement he will leave his Ardfinnan round this week and return to Clonmel.
Tom is known to all here in the village and will be missed along with his smile and his endless happy demeanor as he delivered the post.
He could be often seen enjoying his lunch on the village green when the weather permitted and was a great friend to ex-postman Michael O'Brien whom he often drank tea with and traded stories.
Everyone here in Ardfinnan wishes Tom a long and happy retirement and thanks him for his wonderful service to our little village.
