Clonmel's Ethen Ahearne finished fourth in Prix de Dakhla

Clonmel showjumper Ethen Ahearne posted a very strong result when fourth in the four-star Prix de Dakhla on the Morocco Royal Tour with the Heritage Bloodstock-bred Lvs Goldrush H at the weekend.

The Clonmel athlete and his nine-year-old gelding, owned by Dermot Walsh, recorded an excellent double clear, with their time of 37.67 ensuring that high finish.

It was a performance that indicated plenty of potential for the future.

Ethen Ahearne is the former stable jockey to Aga Khan winner Greg Broderick.

Prior to that, he was based in showjumping dealer Jan Altena's yard in Twente, Holland.

He also secured an Irish World title with the fantastic ride of ABC Saving Grace at the 2022 FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship for Young Horses.
