Planning permission has been sought by a creche in Tipperary to construct an extra classroom at their premises.

Planning permission has been sought to build an additional classroom at a creche in Tipperary.

Sugradh Crèche Ltd, located at Green Hill Village, Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary, applied to construct a detached single-storey building comprising of one classroom, onto their existing creche facility.

The Crèche in Carrick-on-Suir caters for children aged nine months to five years old.

As of September 2025 there were 757 children under the age of three on waiting lists for creche places in Tipperary.

With a lack of childcare options for many families in Tipperary, the granting of planning permission for this extension would be widely welcomed.

Tipperary County Council is scheduled to make a decision on the proposal by 11 March 2026.
