Request follows representations from Kilsheelan/Kilcash Parish Council

The public lights around the bus stop opposite the Ormonde Stores in the village of Kilsheelan should be upgraded.

This was requested by Cllr Siobhán Ambrose at a meeting of Clonmel Borough District.

She said that following representations from the Kilsheelan/Kilcash Parish Council, the provision of a footpath from this bus stop down Chapel Road and into the village should also be considered.

Cllr Ambrose said she also hoped that the speed limit would be reduced at “this pinch point” in the road.

However, a written reply from District Engineer Nicola Keating stated that public lighting and footpaths were generally only provided within the speed limits in towns and villages.

This location is outside the speed limits of Kilsheelan village, and therefore the council isn’t in a position to provide such infrastructure at this location, she added.
