Response to petition for Roscrea nursing home 'not acceptable'

The Dean Maxwell nursing home has been a topic of controversy for some time
The Joint Committee on Public Petitions and the Ombudsmen has recommended has decided to request further information from the HSE and the Department of Health on the future of the Dean Maxwell Nursing Home in Roscrea.
The committee discussed a petition put forward by Donnacha Delaney.
The petition asks that the Government fund the HSE to build a new long-stay residential care unit for older persons in Roscrea before any changes to the current service are implemented.
Both the department and the HSE responded to the committee. However, the Cathaoirleach Martin Browne suggested writing to them again as their response was “not acceptable”.
They also recommended publishing the responses.
