Revitalisation Heritage Group in Tipperary wins National Lottery county award

Tipperary Revitalisation Heritage Group in collaboration with Museum of Childhood Ireland and the CTCHC & Heritage Council (collaborative town centre heath check) programme has been awarded County Winner in the Heritage category of the 2023 National Lottery Good Causes Awards.
Financial support from the National Lottery Good Causes (to the Heritage Council) enabled this project to run a series of sustainable heritage workshops, encouraging young people to engage with their built environment and inspiring them to reimagine a future for themselves and their town.
This community project also highlighted the ability of the towns Architectural Conservation Area to capture its distinctive special quality and allowed the opportunity to produce a film documenting the towns rich Glove Industry.
The project now goes forward to the next round of judging.
Well done to Mary Alice O’Connor, Cllr Annemarie Ryan, Majella McAllister (MOCI) and Alison Harvey (Heritage Council CTCHC) and everyone (young and old) involved in this wonderful community project.
Since 1987, National Lottery players have raised over €6 billion for Good Causes across every corner of Ireland.
The National Lottery’s Good Causes Awards celebrate and honour the inspirational work carried out by hundreds of volunteers, coaches, care givers and other individuals across Ireland, and the organisations they represent.
The work that these volunteers do is phenomenal and has a real and meaningful impact on the communities and causes they so selflessly support.
This year there are 133 county finalists across the categories of Health & Wellbeing, Sport, Heritage, Arts & Culture, Community, Youth, and the Irish Language.
These amazing organisations will now go through to the next round where 34 National finalists will be selected to come forward to represent their organisation at a gala event in the autumn.
