Saturday’s power outage couldn’t keep Thurles Market down

It was great to set up outdoors last Saturday – due to the electricity outage it was not possible to open the shutter on the building.
Thanks to all that came to the market, and supported the traders – there was quite a bit of disruption in the area caused by the outage.
We have some news - Cashel Blue Cheese is now available at the Market – a world renowned cheese produced right here in Tipperary. We will carry the iconic Cashel Blue Cheese and a special reserved cheddar – both made from cow’s milk.
We hope to expand our links with the Tipperary Food Producers Group, and we are also open to having new traders at the market.
As you know, the council are to build a covered area in the Town Park Car park which would enable the Market to move to a town centre location and trade in a semi-outdoor setting – lots of details to be resolved.
We last met with the Council in May 2022, and at that time, they hoped to have the work done by 2025.
In the meantime, we have a location that allows indoor or outdoor trading and offers our customers plenty of free car parking.
The Farmers Market operates from the Greyhound Stadium in Thurles. Our hours are 9am to 12.30pm, and we hope to see you there!
The Café Chris Tea Truck is on site seven days a week, so it is a great point for walkers to meet – have a beverage before or after your walk with plenty of seating available.
Please try to support your local artisans and the local economy. Shop local and keep your local skill set and suppliers in business. Any queries re the market, please call 087 270 1689. We are on Instagram, Facebook and on Twitter @ThurlesM.
