Speed review required for Tipperary roads

Members of Tipperary County Council have called for a speed limit review to be carried out on roads in the county.
Cllr Declan Burgess said the last speed review in Tipperary was carried out in 2017. He understood that a review was to be carried out every five years.
“When will it be carried out. It is very important that the review takes place as soon as possible,” said Cllr Burgess.
Cllr Annemarie Ryan said it was time for a speed review to be carried out.
She also told the meeting that there was a need for more enforcement from gardaí on speed in the county.
Marcus O’Connor, Director of Roads said they were holding off on doing the speed review in the county as it was expected that new national guidelines would be announced.
It would be better not to proceed with the speed limit review until the national guidelines were decided on, said the council official.
