2. Lorcan Egan (Loughmore Castleiney) Egan was given the task of curtailing Templederry’s star man in Sean Ryan last Saturday, and it couldn’t have gone better. Ryan scored just 0-3 all game, with one of those from play, and while he set up a few scores for teammates, his influence was blunted significant throughout the game. A consistent performer.

3. James Quigley (Kiladangan) Had a thunderous game all throughout in the win over Thurles Sarsfields on Sunday. There were plenty of danger men in the Sarsfields front line, and Quigley marshaled his defence well all game, winning almost every ball that came into his vicinity all game after the McCormack goal.

4. David Sweeney (Kiladangan) Likewise, Sweeney had a major influence on the defensive performance of Kiladangan, using every ball he hoovered up well and always got stuck in with loose ball around the defense. Looks fit and close to his best again.

5. Jake Ryan (Toomevara) Jake Ryan had one of those games where the unseen and unheralded work doesn’t stick out, but he nullified Jerome Cahill excellently in Nenagh. Cahll was moved into full forward temporarily to try and get in the game, but was brought back out against the wind, where Ryan awaited again. Top marks once again for Ryan.
