2. Luke Ormond (JK Brackens) Has had a stuttered campaign due to injury, but he started the quarter-final defeat and acquitted himself very well. He picked up Luke Shanahan and kept the lively forward quiet throughout, while also coming out with a mountain of possession.

3. James Quigley (Kiladangan) Probably the game of least entertainment value from the weekend, but one facet of the game was the rock solid performance of Quigley and the Kiladangan defence. With the attack not in full function, they held firm all game with Quigley a pillar of strength at full back.

4. Tom Murphy (JK Brackens) A man who gets attacks going from short puckouts, there are few full backs in the county who can carry the ball like Murphy. He never stopped all game and constantly took on the responsibility of starting from deep.

5. Enda Heffernan (Clonoulty Rossmore) A tough day at the office for Clonoulty who faced an uphill battle when reduced to 14 men in the first half. But Enda Heffernan really stood out in the second half and played really well against the odds.
