2. Robert Byrne (Portroe) In a team shorn of so many top players, Robert Byrne showed his qualities for Portroe in what was a valiant performance in defeat. He was outstanding at the back for the Lakesiders in the loss to Gortnahoe Glengoole, hitting a mountain of ball and just bringing calmness to a defence which had been torn apart two weeks previously.
2.
3. Conor O'Brien (Éire Óg Annacarty) An experienced operator over the years for Éire Óg, he was called on again to bring leadership to a team which was badly in need of a win. He was a big reason for the win over Sean Treacys, showing real authority all game at the back in a defence that performed solidly.
3.
5. James Cummins (Cashel King Cormacs) Cummins played like a man possessed and stuck out in what was a really impressive overall team performance in the win over St Marys. He hit some beautiful scores throughout the game and finished with 0-4 from play to his name.
4.
6. Tom Fox (Éire Óg Annacarty) Like O’Brien, Fox was integral to the Éire Óg effort and he showed real leadership of his own throughout the game. Continues to develop physically and with his hurling ability, he is a top hurler at this level. Helped his side to a badly needed win.
