3. David Maher (Thurles Sarsfields) Maher has put in some shift for his club over the years and he continues to do so for their Premier Intermediates. Had to deal with some big men over the course of the game in the Stakelums and more than matched them physically. A steady hand.

4. Ciaran Haugh (Lorrha) Ciaran Haugh is one of the more experienced players on this Lorrha team and while all the plaudits go to their forwards at times, he was part of a very solid defensive effort last Sunday. Haugh hurled his man well and was cool on the ball all evening. His experience is vital to this Lorrha defence.

5. Alan O'Meara (Lorrha) Played a stormer of a game at midfield and was the busiest player on the field, particularly in the first half. He was a good foil between attack and defence and hit a lovely score when his team were on top in the first half.

6. Michael Cahill (Thurles Sarsfields) Cahill has been a constant presence in the team of the week this year, and he looks fairly nailed on for the team of the year at this rate. Again, he was colossal at the back for Thurles and along with the defenders around him, they were fairly mean apart from a few late goal concessions. A class act.
