5.
6. Brian McGrath (Loughmore Castleiney) The best defender on show in Thurles on Sunday. The younger McGrath stepped up big time here, and the amount of possession he gathered was off the charts. Excellent.

7. Eoghan Hayes (Moycarkey Borris) A man who would have needed ice for his right hand after Saturday's game, he caught five clean puck outs from Toomevara in the game. He had a fine outing.
7.
8. Ciaran Connolly (Loughmore Castleiney) Doesn't always get the limelight of others, especially the McGraths, but he got through another mountain of work on Sunday. His engine was evident again and he continues to progress nicely after recent injury woes.
8.
9. Noel McGrath (Loughmore Castleiney) Quiet in the early stages of the game, as always, he came alive when the game was there to be won, doing more of the donkey work than the flash point scoring of years gone by. A leader.
