Thurles Farmer's Market raise over €600 for Suir Haven Cancer Support Centre

Next market Saturday from 9am to 12:30pm
Thanks to all who supported our August Fundraising for the Suir Haven Cancer Support Centre – a total of €605 was raised.
A special thanks to those who donated prizes – the fuel came from Ger Skehan, Richie Wright and TJ Donnelly, Michael Walshe donated a number of walking sticks on August 17 - one went to the raffle, while the others were purchased on the day as we also sold wildflowers kindly donated by good folks in Clonoulty.
The winners were – fuel – Clare Bohan, Marion Phelan and Noel Jordan, the hamper (thanks to an anonymous donor) Ciara Gleeson, winner of the bottle of Baileys asked that we use it for another prize, so it will be added to the mystery bag.
Anne Sheehan won the Newgrange Lavender Diffuser, Liam O’Dwyer won the Hand Crafted pen and Sharon Shanahan won the Mystery Bag.
In the course of the next two weeks we hope to get the prizes to the winners.
Thank you for your support.
Our Heritage Week events were well received and we appreciate your support and participation.
The vital message of learning to grow your own food and supporting local producers is vital in terms of food security and supporting your local economy.
As usual, we hope you will come to shop for the best in locally produced meats, vegetables, fruits, eggs (hen and duck) honey, juices, baked goods and solid fuel every Saturday morning 9am to 12.30pm at the Greyhound Stadium.
Our location offers our customers plenty of free car parking.
It’s hard to believe that the Council approach in the €3.4M Market Quarter is that no trader or customer can park in the market space – failing to see the nature of a market where customers come and go for the duration ofthe market.
New traders are always welcome – call 087 270 1689.
The Café Chris Tea Coffee Truck is onsite seven days a week with plenty of outdoor seating available.
