After a hugely successful Track & Field day recently at the County Championships in Thurles, our young athletes travelled to Templemore A.C. last Wednesday to compete in the East Munster Championship.

Whilst the standard was even higher at this stage of the Post-Primary Schools Track & Field, the Coláiste Mhuire athletics team travelled in optimism and were not to be disappointed!

Jeffrey Myles won Gold in the Intermediate Discus, Gold in the Intermediate Shot Putt and a Silver in the Intermediate Hammer Throw.

Diarmuid Ryan won Gold and Oscar Caffrey won Bronze in the Long Jump. Luke Thompson won Bronze in the Intermediate Hammer Throw. Phillip Lloyd won Bronze in the Minor 1200m walk. Oscar Caffrey won Silver in the 75m Minor Hurdles. Liam Carroll won Silver in the Junior Boys 800m, and Finn Green won Bronze in the Junior Javelin.

Well done, also to third-year student Ciara Carr, who won Silver in the Hammer Throwing event.

A huge congratulations to all our students and to their mentor Mr Peter Kinane. We wish them all the best as they progress to the Munster Final.

Go mbeirigí bua.
