Tipperary author on a new book is a St Michael's stalwart and avid historian

Gay Lowry book is launched in Tipperary Town
The author of Stories and Memories of St Michael’s AFC, Gay Lowry, is well-known in soccer circles.
The book was launched in the Porter House, Tipperary Town recently and has received very positive reviews.
He has occupied administration positions within association football for many years, including The Nationalist’s soccer correspondent for over twenty seasons.
He also has an avid interest in local history and genealogy and has written several articles about Tipperary Town. This is his third book, which is far removed from his previous two productions. In 2017 he wrote “Be Proud of who you Are” - a detailed account of his family line, Lowry/Godfrey, going back generations.
In 2023 he wrote the book “The Story of Tipperary Workhouse’’ a 300-page account of the harrowing times of poverty and hardship in Tipperary Town and surrounding areas.
Both books were highly praised and sold out within weeks of publication. This latest book is another fascinating read and comes highly recommended.
