Tipperary teen and campaigner Cara Darmody received the letter from the Taoiseach this week

A Tipperary teenager who has campaigned tirelessly and protested outside the Dáil for the past few months has received a letter from the Taoiseach.

Cara Darmody from Tipperary wrote to the Taoiseach asking for more to be done for disability services in the country.

Taoiseach Simon Harris has now replied to this letter stating "a record of €3.2 billion for disability services has been allocated this year".

He also states that "funding of 10 million has been allocated in Budget 2025 to 'Cara's Fund'."

Cara's Fund pays for private assessments, for the families who are sometimes waiting years for their children's needs to be assessed.

The Taoiseach praised the teens ongoing advocacy and support saying "as you can see it is truly making a difference".
