Councillor Jim Ryan has hit out at Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan, saying he has ‘no interest’ in the Thurles bypass project.

At last month's sitting of Thurles-Templemore Municipal District Council, elected members agreed to write to the Minister regarding the proposed bypass.

At this week’s meeting Cllr Ryan asked if the Minister had responded and was told he had not acknowledged the letter.

“Doesn’t that show the man has no interest in a bypass for Thurles,” Cllr Ryan. Cllr Ryan called the Minister’s silence ‘an absolute scandal’ and proposed writing another.

Cllr Sean Ryan informed the council that he would be attending a meeting with Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) in December and said he would raise the bypass.
