Tipperary councillor calls for space for hearses outside this town's ancient graveyard

A Tipperary county councillor has called for space to be set aside outside the old graveyard on Kenyon Street in Nenagh after access has become restricted due to a new roundabout in the town.
The new roundabout has been built outside Arrabawn Co-Op near Nenagh railway station, but it has meant a loss of some parking space where undertakers could take coffins from their vehicles in to the burial ground.
Now Nenagh Municipal District Council has been urged to look at having a facility at Kenyon Street to allow hearses access the graveyard.
Cllr Hughie McGrath told the October meeting of the District Council that undertakers needed space in order to take coffins out of hearses.
