The Ballycommon craft group recently exhibited their craft work based on the Book of Dimma at the Thomas McDonagh Museum in Cloughjordan. Over 15 individual craft pieces in all mediums were on show. Museum Director Tori McMorran introduced the evening; Liz Powell gave an overview of the exhibits, which will be on show in Cloughjordan until the end of September. Liz introduced George Cunningham, who gave an overview of Dimma’s early Christian Times and his monastery at Roscrea and hermitage at Monaincha. George also gave a detailed analysis of the book, its makeup, contents and history. He had a special donation for the Museum: he presented five rare copies of the Irish Review 1911- 1913, which each has a poem by Thomas MacDonagh. These are very rare copies. Museum Director Tori was thrilled with the donation as they did not have these.
