Dog fouling health risks highlighted

A Tipperary town elected representative has supported an appeal from a community group to dog owners.

Cllr Annemarie Ryan has come out in support of Knockavilla Community Council after the group issued an appeal to dog owners to pick up after their dogs.

"Spot on, the same all over Tipperary. It's disgusting and dangerous.Pick up after your dogs please," appealed Cllr Annemarie Ryan.

She was responding to the following post from Knockavilla Community Council -

"We would ask dog owners who walk their dogs in the vicinity of Knockavilla hall, the prayer garden and the church to please clean up after your dogs.

There is an unacceptable presence of dog fouling in the area, which poses health risks to children playing in the area, as well as being unsightly for people using both premises.

It's the responsibility of owners to carry waste bags with you when walking your dogs."
