Tipperary Gardaí issue Health & Safety advice to the public for Halloween

Tipperary Garda have appealed to young people and their parents to follow the following Health & Safety advice over Halloween.
Sergeant Ray Moloney, Community Policing Sergeant in Tipperary Central told the Nationalist: "We wish every one an enjoyable and safe Hallowe'en by asking them and their parents to be mindful of some of the following:
- Some of your neighbours may not celebrate the festival and if so, please don't call to them. You may see that their gates are closed, that their outside lights are off and that the house may not have any Hallowe'en decorations displayed.
- Please ensure that any costumes you buy have the 'CE' label which indicates that the material is of appropriate quality.
- Keep all pets indoors as their hearing is very sensitive and unusual loud noises will affect them greatly.
- It might not be part of the scary costume, but please if out and about, wear a hi-vis jackets. Motorists will not see Skeletons as quickly without some form of reflective material.
- All motorists, irrespective of the speed limit are asked to slow down and to expect a higher footfall in housing estates or on roads in general.
- Stay away from bonfires.
- Do not release Chinese Lanterns into the air - you have no control over where they might land and they could cause significant damage.
- Always go Trick or Treating with a responsible adult.
- Above all, make sure it is a fun event of everyone.
