Tipperary gardaí urge people to be vigilant as scammers take thousands from bank account

A Tipperary man has had several thousands of euro stolen from his bank account, the gardaí in Nenagh have revealed.

The gardaí continue to warn people to be vigilant in relation to online fraud.

The victim received a text message that appeared to be from An Post and replied with a text containing his bank details.

This was followed by a phone call from an individual purporting to be employed at his bank.

The victim later discovered the money missing from his account.
