Tipperary man banging on garda station door was in a hurry to sign on

A man who kept banging on the door of Roscrea Garda station has been fined by Nenagh District Court.

Tommy Harty, 21, of 7 Parkmore Halting Site, Roscrea, pleaded to an offence under the Public Order Act at Main Street, Roscrea, on December 15, 2022.

The court was told that three gardaí in the station went to the door and discovered Mr Harty, who was also kicking the door.

The court heard that Mr Harty told the gardaí he needed to “sign on” in the station and was in a rush.

When asked to stop by the gardaí he told them to “go f...” themselves.

Judge Elizabeth MacGrath fined Mr Harty €250.
