The public are being left in a state of limbo regarding progress on the N24 upgrade, a meeting of Tipperary County Council was told.

Cllr Michael Fitzgerald said there was a lot of uncertainty about where the upgrade was going and when it would take place.

He said that Tipperary County Council was the lead authority on the Cahir to Limerick Junction section of the upgrade and he felt there should be more statements issued to let people know what was going on.

“Statements should be made every two months to keep people up to date. They are asking members and we don’t know. A lot of people are saying it is never going to happen,” said Cllr Fitzgerald.

Cllr John Crosse said there was a lot of cynicism out there as to if it will ever happen.

“There is work being done but we are a long way off where we would like to be,” he said.

Marcus O’Connor, Director of Roads told members that progress was being made. There was a very good website to update on progress.
