Tipperary school secures €125,000 in funding to modernise engineering department

From the Coláiste Phobal, Ros Cré notes
In February 2023, the engineering department here in the Coláiste sought funding for the upgrading of machinery to the engineering room to improve safety, work practices and CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) capabilities.
After a review by the Dept. of Education €125,000 of funding was secured to modernise the room.
This included two Strands pillar drills, a Colchester lathe, a Bomar horizontal bandsaw, an UZMA electric guillotine and a GCC Laser pro laser cutter.
All the above items are improving teaching and learning of modern engineering techniques and practices, improving safety and above all, giving our students a modern fulfilling experience.
