Tipperary South General Election candidate thanks supporters

The Independent candidate John O'Heney received 3,979 votes before being eliminated after the third count
Independent candidate Cllr John O'Heney, who received a respectable 3,979 votes before he was eliminated, has thanked everyone that has supported him during the election.
In a post O'Heney shared online, he said: "I would just like to say a huge word of thanks and appreciation to everyone for their wonderful support over the weekend.
"My first six months in Politics have been hugely enjoyable and an extremely busy time. In June, we topped the Poll in the Local Elections in Cashel-Tipperary and this weekend we recieved almost 4,000 Votes in a General Election. It is remarkable progress for a first-time Independent Candidate who hails from a rural area, in such a short period of time.
"I would not have been able to achieve any of this without the support of my family, friends and my amazing Team, who all worked so hard this year. I look forward to helping the people of my home district in Cashel-Tipperary and people throughout County Tipperary in my remaining years in this current Council term."
