The Swim for a Mile programme took part in Clonmel, Carrick on Suir, Nenagh and Thurles
Tipperary swimming enthusiasts have just finished the last of a 10 week course aimed at helping them to build their confidence in the water and helping them to swim a mile.
The Swim for a Mile programme took part in Clonmel, Carrick on Suir, Nenagh and Thurles, with participants attending two coached sessions per week and a self-guided swim.
The swimmers gradually building their endurance and technique over the 10 weeks of the course, which was hosted by Tipperary Sports Partnership.
The programme ended on a high note with swimmers completing their full mile swim (64 lengths) in the final session and celebrating with a well deserved cup of tea.
"Well done to all involved for their dedication and achievement. Thanks to Healthy Ireland for funding this programme and Nenagh swimming pool staff for delivering it," Tipperary Sports Partnership said.
