Tipperary TikToker undertakes 48-hour fast in aid of Palestinian children

A Tipperary TikToker will undertake a 48-hour fast to raise money for those suffering from starvation in Gaza.
Jamie Stapleton, a 28-year-old from Tipperary currently living in Australia on a Working Holiday Visa, is planning a 48-hour fast in solidarity with children facing starvation in Gaza.
He is using the fundraiser to support UNICEF Ireland, with all donations going toward the organisation’s emergency delivery of Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food, a life-saving peanut-based paste for malnourished children.
Jamie is planning the fast in the coming days next week. His goal is to raise €1,000, with €313 raised at the time of writing, emphasising that while the crisis is driven by war rather than natural causes, we have the tools to help — if support arrives in time.
Within the first day, the fundraiser has already received multiple donations.
Jamie hopes the campaign will inspire others to act swiftly: “You have the power now to help save a child’s life. But there’s no time to lose.”
In a statement on his GoFundMe page, Jamie said: "I will be doing a 48 hour fast in aid of UNICEF in an effort to help starving children in Gaza.
"This is not a famine caused by nature. It is hunger caused by war, and we have the means to fight it. Just two sachets of Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food a day – peanut paste packed with life-saving nutrients – can pull a starving child back from the edge. But only if UNICEF get it to them in time.
"You have the power now to help save a child’s life. But there’s no time to lose. Please send this life-saving food today – before another child’s time runs out."
