The Newport native has moved to a new training group in London as part of new post-Olympics chapter

Over the past year, Tipp woman Sharlene Mawdsley has become widely known as one of the best anchor leg runners in the world and contributing to Ireland's unprecedented relay success in 2024.

With the success of the multi-medal winning team consisting of Mawdsley, Chris O’Donnell, Thomas Barr, and Rhasidat Adeleke, the Tipp woman is said to have changed her retirement plans.

Sharlene Mawdsley previously revealed in an interview with the Irish Independent that she had missed out on a few weddings in 2024.

The star athlete also said she "definitely" wants to be a mother and she will continue with her athletic career until 2028 when she will retire to start her next chapter.

Back in November, Mawdsley spoke about her post-Olympics training saying she had decided to move to a training group in London and began working with Tony Lester.
