Tributes paid to retiring Tipperary supervisor after almost 30 years of service

Congrats!
Lots of tributes were paid on Friday, October 13 to Helen Morrissey on the occasion of her retirement as C.E. Supervisor with the Glen of Aherlow Fáilte Society and associated sub groups.
Anyone that knows Helen can testify to the enormous interest that she places in community and of her work towards the betterment of clubs and groups that were under her care.
While she was tasked as Supervisor of the Glen of Aherlow Fáilte Society, her remit was much greater than the Glen and involved overseeing groups and preparing work plans for clubs in different locations across West Tipperary.
The C.E. participants in the various groups were keen to acknowledge the help and assistance that they received from Helen and a number of presentations were made to her on her retirement.
A native of Galbally, Helen has lived in Bansha for many years and has been associated with many organisations in Bansha including the Tidy Towns committee and the running of the Templeneiry Old Church facility. Indeed for most community efforts in the parish it is to Helen Morrissey that everyone turns to.
Though she is retiring as C.E. Supervisor, I am sure that she won't be retiring from parish or community life.
For 29 years she has been Supervisor of the Glen of Aherlow Fáilte Society and through her initiative the annual Walking Festivals were formed and have developed into major events on the walking calendar.
Helen was also heavily involved in the setting up Club Ceoil, a weekly session of music and song which moves from venue to venue during the summer months.
Through her work as C.E. Supervisor she has assisted huge numbers of people to avail of community employment and subsequently to secure employment as a result.
In her work as C.E. Supervisor Helen always went above and beyond the call of duty, and this was very much appreciated by all of the group representatives.
We join with the Glen of Aherlow Fáilte Society and the various C.E. sub groups in offering our very best wishes to Helen on her retirement as C.E. Supervisor.
