A very generous donation of €1,670 was made to the Ciarán Bracken Cancer Treatment Fund due to the tremendous support from the many musicians that completed a 12-hour session in the Arch bar, Thurles, on St Patrick’s Day.

Grateful thanks to Lilly Hayes for helping to organise the event and to Dee Hayes for making sure everyone was looked after on the day.

Thank you to the members of the Cabragh Wetlands Choir and to all the musicians and singers who kept the session going from midday to midnight.

A special word of thanks to Eamon O’Dwyer from Tipp FM, who recorded the event and to the huge amount of people who turned up to support and donate to such a worthy cause.

To the outstanding talented young musicians who played for Ciarán's charity, we were all so delighted to have you there and to play alongside you.

Many thanks also to the parents and group leaders who made it all possible.

The children from Buddy Brennans Music Group came straight from performing in the Littleton Parade to start the 12hr session in the Arch bar led by Sinead Brennan were Seán Stanley, Lauren Kirwan, Ben Stapleton, Emily Stapleton, Matt Stapleton and Jimmy Cormack.

The children from Ballycahill/Holycross joined in after performing in the Thurles Parade accompanied by Bridget Long were Ella McGinley, Siobhán Gleeson, Edel Cullagh, Roisin Ryan, Moira Ryan, Emily Finn, Eabha Walshe, Emily Bannon, Edward Bannon, Odhran Doyle, Fionn Gallagher, Tommy Stapleton, Tommy Maher, Tony Bannon and Pauraic Costello.

The theme of this year’s St Patrick’s Day Parade was Youth: Our Hopes for the Future.

For so many children to gather together to give their time, energy and talent in the hope of ensuring the future of a little boy of four is a credit to every one of them, and they are to be highly commended for their care.
