Two Tipperary sides clash in mouth-watering Munster Junior Cup quarter-final on Sunday

Munster Junior Cup Quarter-Final Preview
St Michael's v Clonmel Celtic at Cooke Park
Sunday, February 4 at 2 pm
Two TSDL Premier League sides face off in the quarter- finals of the Munster Junior Cup competition on this Sunday afternoon.
Record title holders St Michael’s welcome Clonmel Celtic to Cooke Park in what should be a mouth watering clash that will bring many neutral supporters to the field behind the church.
The home side will be hoping to make it nine wins in this prestigious competition while Celtic have yet to add one riband to the cup, something that grates just a little, especially with near neighbours Town having lifted the title twice. The closest the Clonmel side came was when they fell at the final hurdle in the 2013 final to Limerick kingpins Pike Rovers.
Overall the competition has had a strong presence of TSDL teams since the league was founded, with teams featuring in the final on 13 occasions over the past 20 years, and three times with both finalists coming from the county.
This as much as anything shows the strength of football in Tipperary and with three teams in the quarter-finals again this year, (including Peake Villa), there is still a good chance that the cup could be resting in Clonmel, Thurles or Tipperary Town once again.
Kick-off is at 2.30pm for a game not to be missed.
