UPDATE: Councillor's shocking revelation about Boil Water Notices in Tipperary

How many?
Councillor Declan Burgess has made some shocking revelations about Boil Water Notices in Tipperary.
In a post on Facebook on Tuesday night, he said: "After tonight there will seven Boiled Water Notices in Tipperary.
"Boiled Water Notices are becoming very frequent in Tipperary.
"Current issues are:
*The quality of the raw water due to recent heavy rainfall
*Planned industrial action (affecting three supplies)
*Inadequate chlorine residual levels in the treated water
*The level of turbidity in the water is affecting the water disinfection process
*There is also a huge cost associated with these boiled water notices to households, particularly in a cost of living crisis…which is in very unsatisfactory.
"Households and Businesses on all seven schemes are advised to boil their water before using it.
"The seven schemes include:
Crotty’s Lake(Carrick on Suir)
Glenary and Poulavanogue Water Treatment Plants(Clonmel).
Ardfinnan Regional Water Supply Scheme,
Burncourt Regional
Ballylooby Public Water Supplies
Thurles Regional Public Supply
Galtee Regional Public Water Supply
"In terms of our own scheme in Cashel and West Tipp (Galtee scheme) it is likely we will be on a boiled water notice for another few days.
"You will also start seeing small water tankers located across various locations in the town and district…these are being put in place as water supply could end up being disrupted.
"I stress this supply STILL needs to be boiled. I will monitor situation closely and try my best to put out real information to the public.
"However, a serious conversation has to take place around our water infrastructure and water quality in Tipperary. We need a real investment plan that upgrades our supplies/facilities. Uisce Eireann and national Government must act."
