Cara Darmody, a teenager from Tipperary, had to recently study for her summer exams while protesting in Dublin outside Leinster House.

A Tipperary teenager has returned to school to sit her summer exams this morning after ending her recent protest outside Leinster House.

Cara Darmody, from Ardfinnan, began staging a 50-hour protest outside Leinster House on Tuesday morning of this week, against the backlog of assessment needs in the system.

While protesting she studied for her summer exams on the street outside Leinster House in Dublin, which began this morning.

In a social media made this morning Cara reflected on the past week she spent protesting.

"What a difference a day makes - from studying on the dirty streets of Dublin with buses & traffic roaring at you, to doing exams in a quiet hall where you could hear a pin drop!!! Will someone please turn up the noise!"
