Bookworm in Thurles recently hosted the Winter Recital by Ashraf & Anna Music School, bringing together students, teachers and members of the local community for an evening of live music and performance.
Students of various ages and backgrounds took to the stage, presenting a programme that included works from the classical repertoire alongside music from different traditions, including Azerbaijani composers.
For several performers, the recital marked their first public appearance, making the event both a milestone and a memorable experience.
The audience responded warmly, applauding the confidence, musicality and dedication shown by the young musicians.
Among those attending was Marion Daly, Regional Representative of the Examination Department of the Royal Irish Academy of Music, who praised the atmosphere of the event.

Special recognition was given to Anna Stepanova, the school’s teacher, singer and saxophonist.
She is an artist of Selmer Paris, Silverstein Works, JLV Sound Paris and BG France, and Vice President of the International Golden Saxophone Competition.
Her dedication and artistic leadership were highlighted as central to the students’ development.
