Worried about property being stolen? Try this Garda tip to deter criminals from stealing

With crime on the rise 'Property Marking' is of huge importance for people across Tipperary.

Ensuring items are marked could make the difference in getting them back if the items are taken.

Tipperary Gardai are taking the initiative and ensuring people are prepared for all situations.

In a post today, Tipperary gardaí on Facebook said: "Garda John Walshe of Ardfinnan Garda Station was busy last week with Property Marking in the area," the post read pointing out that "he marked a wide range of items of all sizes."

The post concluded with the following sound advice: "By marking your property, you help us to deter criminals from stealing property. If you have something of value, please come to one of the marking events - if you can move it to us, we can mark it for you!"
