Yet another Tipp ladies footballer to head Down Under after approach from Aussie Rules side

The exodus of ladies footballers to play Australian Rules continues at pace, with Tipperary the latest county affected as senior footballer Anna Rose Kennedy is set to travel down under to play for Geelong in the Australian Womens Football League (AFLW) with the new season already underway.
The Aherlow player is one of the top players on Peter Creedon's Tipperary team currently, with her stock rising high in recent months after leading her college DCU to O'Connor Cup glory earlier this month.
It comes as a big blow to Tipperary who have been playing well of late as they finished their Lidl Ladies National Football League campaign in second behind Armagh and Laois, losing out on getting to the final by virtue of the head-to-head rule having lost to Laois earlier in the campaign.
However, it is not yet known when the Aherlow star will be making her way to Melbourne as the season has already begun for 2023 and may mean that the O'Connor Cup winning captain could be available for championship.
Sooner or later though, Kennedy will join her fellow and former county teammates Orla O'Dwyer (Brisbane Lions) and Aisling McCarthy (West Coast Eagles) in Australia, with plenty of speculation in recent weeks and months linking star player Aishling Moloney with a move to another club in the AFLW.
