Public representatives have been told that the local authority will not be providing refuse bins in a Tipperary Town housing estate.

Cllr Tony Black called on Tipperary/Cahir/Cashel Municipal District to put three bins in Canon Hayes Park.

“There used to be public bins in the estate but they were recently removed and never replaced. The estate is busy and is also popular for residents of the West End walking their dogs. The area needs public bins,” said Cllr Black.

Officials told Cllr Black that it was not the policy of the local authority to install bins in housing estates.

Cllr Black said he was not happy with the response from officials on the matter.

“I don’t think the response is good enough, “ Cllr Black told the meeting after hearing the response to the motion he tabled.
