AIB Munster Intermediate Club Camogie Championship Final
Boherlahan Dualla 3-14
Ballinahassig 2-9
Boherlahan Dualla showed their class to surge beyond Cork champions Ballinahassig and secure a 3-14 to 2-9 victory to win the AIB Munster Intermediate Camogie title in Cappamore on Sunday afternoon.
Having won the 2026 FBD Tipperary Intermediate Camogie Championship three weeks ago, defeating Brian Borus by 1-18 to 0-3 in the county final at FBD Semple Stadium, the Tipperary champions led from pillar to post and ran out deserving winners in East Limerick.
The Tipperary side had a healthy spread of scorers throughout, with Abby and Clodagh Horgan chipping in with a combined 1-10, while Ballinahassig were heavily reliant on full-forward Caitriona Collins, sister of Cork goalkeeper Patrick, who ended the day with a personal tally of 2-7.
The Tipperary ladies settled into the contest early and raced into a 0-4 to 0-0 lead within three minutes, with a brace of scores from Abby and Clodagh Horgan. Ballinahassig responded with a well-taken goal from full-forward Caitriona Collins to cut the gap to the minimum in the fifth minute.
Susie Delaney and a superb effort over the shoulder from Clodagh Horgan restored Boherlahan Dualla’s three-point cushion before Collins scored the Cork side’s first point of the day from a placed ball. Further scores from Anna Murphy and Doireann Ryan had Boherlahan firmly in control at the quarter-hour mark, with the Tipperary champions 1-7 to 1-1 in front.
However, the Leesiders roared back into the contest with four unanswered scores to cut the gap to two by the twenty-fourth minute, with a hat-trick of Collins frees alongside a well-taken score from play from Evelyn Collins making it 1-7 to 1-5.
Abby Horgan landed a further brace of frees for Boherlahan Dualla before the break, but those were cancelled out by scores from Caitriona Collins and Grace Healy, leaving two between the sides at the interval, with the Tipperary champions still with their noses in front as the scoreboard read 1-9 to 1-7.
The third quarter was one dominated by frees as Boherlahan Dualla maintained control over the Cork ladies. Abby Horgan landed a brace of frees before Caitriona Collins landed one of Ballinahassig’s two second-half scores in the forty-sixth minute.
Horgan landed another free soon after, but in the final 10 minutes, the Tipperary side took complete control. Neasa Dwan landed a superb score from play before Susie Delaney put the game on ice with a glorious 52nd-minute goal to make it 2-13 to 1-9. Delaney followed up with another score from play as Boherlahan cruised towards victory.
Deep into stoppage time, Clodagh Horgan added the cherry on top with the Blue and Golds’ third goal, before, with the final action of the game, Caitriona Collins netted a consolation goal for Ballinahassig from a late penalty.
Boherlahan Dualla can now look forward to the All-Ireland series, where they will certainly fancy their chances. Meanwhile, Ballinahassig can look forward to senior camogie next year after a fantastic 2026 innings for the Cork club.
