BREAKING: Driver arrested in Tipperary on suspicion of drug driving and car seized

A driver was arrested on Thursday in Birdhill after a roadside drug test
In a post share to social media on Friday morning, Gardaí in north Tipperary said that they had arrested a driver in Birdhill on Thurday 23 April after a roadside stop for suspected driving without insurance led to a positive drug test.
Gardaí from Killaloe and Newport were on patrol when a vehicle was flagged on the Garda mobility device for having no insurance. The driver was stopped and asked to provide an oral fluid sample, which indicated the possible presence of cocaine.
The motorist was arrested at the scene and taken to Nenagh Garda Station, where a doctor subsequently obtained a blood sample. The results of that test are awaited.
The vehicle was seized under road traffic legislation on suspicion of having no insurance.
